Respect was once a word Aretha once sang in a song.
By teaching it to our children we certainly can't go wrong.
Respect for others we know is a lesson to be learned
and no it's not a privilege it is something we must earn.
By being respectful of others no matter what their age
can make them feel our kindness as with conversations we engage
the kind words we should always say with a tone of kindness too
and the respect will hopefully come back, come back to me and you.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self- control.
2 Peter 1:5-9
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
So many old fashioned values like respect, saying please and thank you have become passe but we know that being kind and respectful is a must and something we need to do every day. Love and prayers, Norma
