I was inspired by Brad Boland's request for us to join a small group for the churchwide upcoming Bible study. I am in a sunday school class that will be doing that but I want us to pray for church goers who are not connected with a small group to let this be a time to join one. In scripture today I read the definition of friend and fellowship...
Friend- intimate companion or associate, one attached to another by affection or esteem.
Fellowship- friendship, association, companionship
The scriptures that support this are many but here are three of my favorites.
A friend loves at all times...
I John 1:7(a)
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with on another...
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servent does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: LOVE EACH OTHER.
Love and prayers to all,
Coach Joshua, Coach Adam, Coach Bethany, Coach Will, and Coach Conner.
